Scandinavian Design Embassy launches in Paris during Maison & Objet and Paris Design Week

The Scandinavian Design Embassy is making its Paris debut—a bold initiative that unites the Nordic countries to share Scandinavian design values worldwide through immersive embassy events. After successful editions in New York and Dublin, Paris marks the next step in this growing collaboration.

Seven visionary Nordic brands will be showcased at the Embassy’s inaugural Paris launch, highlighted by an exclusive “Meet the Makers” event at the Ambassador’s Residence of Sweden. Supported by the Embassies of Finland and Denmark, this special gathering will bring together press, buyers, cultural leaders, and design professionals in an intimate setting to experience Nordic innovation firsthand.

Participating brands include Swedish textile pioneer Astrid, known for their contemporary fabrics tailored for professional interior design; iconic Swedish brand String Furniture, celebrated for its timeless modular shelving and storage solutions; Sekt, an artisan producer of lighting and interior objects with a strong emphasis on local craftsmanship and sustainable production; and Nola, a leading Swedish studio designing sustainable and inclusive outdoor spaces. From Finland, participants include Mobel, a contemporary furniture brand redefining Nordic minimalism through thoughtful design, and Secto Design, globally recognized for its sculptural wooden lighting handcrafted in Finland. Representing Denmark is Friends & Founders, a design-driven brand combining artistic expression with functional elegance in furniture and objects.

The Scandinavian Design Embassy is a collaborative initiative aimed at promoting Nordic companies internationally at Nordic Embassies around the world. So far, it brings together key organizations including the Finnish Design Embassy, Norwegian Design Industry, the Swedish Institute, and Svensk Form. Through this partnership, we strengthen the innovative and sustainable design principles that define the Nordic countries.  Building on the success of the Finnish Design Embassy initiative, which has been active since 2022, this project has extended the concept to neighboring countries for an even stronger presence around the world.
